I've only played bass at open mic nights, but the drummer told me, "you have great tempo," and the regular bassist (who is actually a tiringt professional) told me I know how to groove. I'll definitely take those.

Hey yes, I have solved the problem. First, I took the bass in and let my friendly neighborhood guitar tech fix it. Cost me $25. Second, I've bought a couple better basses since!

I got one of these a few months ago. Looks great, sounds like a BEAST (although there is some fret noise). Totally worth it.

I prefer my jazz to my precision, because with my short fingers it's easier to play. However, I believe in the right tool for the job. It all depends upon which tool supports the groove properly.
