Before you go out and buy or build anything try wiring the 4 ohm speaker cabinets in series. That will give you an eight ohm load that the amp will be happy with. You gain add about 3 db of gain by moving more air with the extra cabinet. You might find that the sound is what you want.

The hollow body is almost surely a Guild. The tatty Guild label is a strong clue. The Hagstrom Bisonic pickups and and bridge further support this. This may be a sleeper worth looking at. Good luck at the auction
