Anyone else addicted to cabinets?

I currently have 9 cabinets, I’m in one band… we gig once or twice a month. Do I have a problem? The list so far is;
Bag end s15

music man 210rh

music man 115rh

(2) GK 410 mbe ii

Markbass New York 151

seismic 212 loaded with tecamp speakers (poor man’s Tecamp s212)

hartke 410tp

peavey 215d

ampeg svt48he 4x8

to me, cabinets make more of an impact than amp. At least that’s my justification. Anyone else collect big, heavy, eye-sores, or is it just me?

Cabs are the only thing I have GAS for these days (as far a bass-related gear), but I happen to have a nice selection for any situation,

so between that and the prices of gear these days, I find myself able to resist. :)

My present arsenal:

GK 212MBE (rarely use these days)
MarkBass CL152- (older Classic 2x15, black speakers)
Two Fender Pro 410s (steel-grill non-neo models)

I would love to have a bunch more cabs...but I am running out of space. I have run totally amuck collecting amps, and have lost count. I know it's more than 40...but I don't know for sure if it's still less than 50.

I also have quite a few cabs, but not a lot of variety for bass.
2 BFI cabs loaded with EVM 18Bs
2 home-built EV TL405s loaded with EVM 18Bs
1 GreenBoy Dually loaded with Faital 15PR400
4 Genz Benz 1288T Uber Quads

Just for fun, I would like to have a Ampeg Heritage 810 and an Aguilar DB810...I don't even like Ampeg 810s, but it's an iconic cab and I own two vintage SVTs.

For guitar
1 Marshall 1960AX loaded with Celestion greenbacks
1 Marshall 1960BX loaded with Celestion greenbacks
2 Hi-Tone HT4121 loaded with Dr-F Fane Purple clone.
1 Matamp 412 loaded with Celestion blackbacks
1 GK 212 loaded with JBL E120s
1 Fender brownface Princeton (combo load with 10" Celestion Gold)

GAS expands to fill its environment.

PV=nRT
where:
P is the average price of musical equipment you own
V is the volume of gear expressed in number of individual units
n is the ideal Gear Acquisition Syndrome constant
R is the room you have in your dwelling available for gear
T is the tolerance of your significant other

or so I learned in high school........:woot:

Where's SVT Bob when you need him?

Cabs are fun to have, and I agree that different cabs can really change your tone.

I’m down to 3 Bag End s-15Ds, and one SWR WM10 cab.

the SWR is part of a mini rig of doom, paired with a GK MB150s or a MB200.

the Bag Ends are powered by a GK 800RB (all three) or a GK 400RB.

Realistically, I don’t need three Bag End cabs, but I got decent deals on them.

I usually play through IEMs, and I love the fidelity and how it clears up the stage, but...the rare occasion I play an outside gig with a big amp/cab setup? Glorious. It's a good reminder of just how good it feels to have that air moving behind you.

On a practical note, though, I always have a cab on stage just in case anything goes wrong with the IEM setup, and also to have some stage volume for those people in the crowd that like to be up close. I have quite a few cabs, too, and since I'm in multiple bands, it has come in handy if I've had to perform with one band, then quickly go to another gig. Multiple setups are good for logistics.

My cabs:

Barefaced Big Baby II
Barefaced One10 and One10T
DNA DNS-210 (x2)
Accugroove powered Tri-112+
Accugroove Tri-112 (old school ceramic driver model)

Guilty. I’ve gone through various “walls” of cabs. It was nice when I was gigging bc I had a selection of cabs for every venue type. Now I’m not in a band, and I have a selection of cabs for no reason.

1x8
1x10
1x12 (3)
1x15
2x12
2x15
4x8
4x10
6x8

Surprisingly I don’t currently have a 2x10, though I’ve owned many over the years.

Yes, you have a problem, but I am here to help. Please send me the MM1x15 and possibly the MM2x10 and that will help.

I have a few cabs myself. Mesa Boogie Subway 1x15, another Subway 1x15, Subway 2x12, Genz Benz Shuttle 2x10, plus a Rumble 100. And I use each one of them (or combination) for different purposes. I do not anticipate getting anything else.... (said everyone on talkbass).
