Has anyone ever beheaded a Spector? I'm talking about making something like the Steinberger XQ2 bass, but it would be a Spector with the nice NS curved body with tuners in the bridge. Don't shoot me. :/

I have a 1989 Spector NS-2A which had an active EMG P-J set and BQC system installed by a previous owner. I've had it a couple of years maybe and always thought it sounded a little compressed, and the mid freq selector was a little wonky and made weird noises when adjusted, but a couple of weeks...

Jamiroquai is one of the few bands I can even stand to listen to anymore. Besides Gang of Four. And Sabbath. And sometimes Beck. Anyway, driving in the car the other day, listening to Jamiroquai, and my wife says, "Damn, they hire some really good drummers, huh?"

Unless GK has changed the MB200, the speaker out is a combo jack: a speakon with a 1/4 inch jack in the middle. That's how mine is and I use a 1/4 inch speaker cable.

I am loving the Joyo Ultimate Drive: it killed at Friday night's gig using my P bass with flats. I asked my guitarist if he thought it sounded good. He said "it sounds amazing!" However, I am having an issue with my one active bass, a Spector NS-2A modified with EMG active PJ set and BQC system...

Played and sounded great last night. Easy on the shoulder, too. I took off those strat knobs and put on some chrome barrel knobs from Allparts.

Yeah, I love that pickguard. It was on the bass when I got it in the late '80s. You can see it in the video I linked to in the first post.

Actually, I bought the pre-finished body, so the work was done by someone else. Others have asked about the finish. It looks great, but it is a hard and thin finish over a soft wood, so I would think it could be damaged easily if dropped or hit with something. I'll have to see how it holds up to...
