Took some more pics of the final product yesterday. I'm not the best photographer, but you guys get the idea:
what do you guys thing about the haz pre? I have a euro 4 string with a haz copy pre and was wondering if a emg B/t and mid with sweep would work out better? Just wondering if anyone had gone through this before.

Yeah I love that shirt and artwork. I always get at least one person telling me it's freaking them out LOL.
I don't wear the sweatbands all the time, but at the show it was so damn humid I was already sweating before we started so it was a must. My left hand still slipped off the neck a couple times.
I would love to get to the southwest. Maybe a double bill with Defy Tolerance!

Man, that thing is gorgeous. I love the restore job with the electronics. I think restoring it to its original config was a great idea. I'm not a woodgrain fan, but that is so nice. Great museum piece! Fun to play, too, I'm sure.

Has anyone noticed that Spector Club part 64 is pretty significant. The Lakland Club is also at 64. We will pass them soon (maybe in part 65). I don't know if there has ever been a thread that long in TalkBass.
When I joined (late 2011), I think it was at 16. I remember thinking that was pretty big thread. Then I saw the lakland club, they were so far ahead I though they will always be the longest.
Just thought I would point that out.

PJ at Spector confirmed for me that they're going to string my NS-4 with Formula 603 steels. This is great! Usually I pull the nickels off and re-string with LaBella Hard Rockin Steels. I can't wait to try out the new Spector steels; the LaBellas are becoming more difficult to find, and this could be a new option. Kool!!!

The guy I bought my first Spector from referred to it as "pre-disastered". Love that. You know that bass has been flogged for decades and is just as awesome today as it was when it left the Spector shop.

Thanks! I dig old instruments. My previous NS-2 had peeling clear coat all over and I loved it. This one is actually in pretty good shape compared to a few of my other basses lol.
I usually don't like unfinished woodgrain basses, but theres something about all the different pieces of wood, and the vibe this one puts off that I love.

Its more than a rash, there's a good bit of wood that is completely worn away in that spot leaving a nice little divot to rest your thumb in lol.

The mm114 isn't in production any longer, the NS2A circuit is better in my experience, others say it is very close. both are rare.
the haz (read US 9v) is revered as the end all be all preamp by most Spector enthusiasts. The Tonepump is was designed to get very close in tone.
What tone are you looking for? Many here have installed the BQC system and they love it.

That is very nice! What wood did they use in the back neck/body position, is that just a stain or is it a splice?
