Two passive pickup set up, bypassing the neck pickup with a bridge pickup connected to a preamp

This may sound complex maybe someone can make sense of it, I have a humbucker connected to the mmsr preamp and I have a p pickup in the neck. Originally I was going to switch the preamp out but I like the sound of the preamp too much. So I was wondering will a unity gain buffer work for the neck...

I want the tone and brightness of rotosound swing 66 roundwounds but a smoother feel.

I’m thinking mainly about ghs super steels and lo riders (for that rotosound/ Jaco/ Patrick o Hearn (Zappa)/ Pedro Asnar (seru giran) to name a few. The Ian martin Allison labellas too because donny benet in his recent back to the studio bass tutorial/ cover recommend them although i think it’s...

I want the tone and brightness of rotosound swing 66 roundwounds but a smoother feel.

Not sure if those will give the rotosound tone but I’ve been curious about those strings and I want to try them but there are alot of reviews saying they break easily…

I want the tone and brightness of rotosound swing 66 roundwounds but a smoother feel.

for me I like the gliding feeling or the ability on labellas flats or pino smoothies, could be the coating, but I love the tone of the rotosounds but not a fan of the feel. Any suggestions? (I’m looking strictly for roundwounds not half, pressure , or groundwounds)

Vintage Tone specs, what tone cap will work with a split coil and humbucker pickup without mud

I’m adding a passive tone and active/passive switch to my fretless stingray I wanted to know what tone pot value should I get in order to get that vintage sound. On a pbass I don’t really have to worry ( I have a 104k cap in my fender Japan 1980s pbass which equals 0.1, but on a humbucker I’m...

Adding a Music Man Humbucker to a Pbass - Anyone done this? If so, happy?

I’ve done I loved it currently working on a build that has passive pickups instead of the full Emg set up I was using before in a fretless bass.

NPD - KMA Machines Horizont "INTERDIMENSIONAL MULTISPATIAL STEREO PHASER"

If you get around to checking let me know, because I’m choosing between the pigtronix and this one. The pigtronix seems “rare” these days so I don’t wanna miss out if that’s the one to choose

    Envelope filter/follower addict support group

I recently got the robotalk 2 and spatial delivery, both are great but I originally thought the robotalk was broken since I got it used. It turns out it is input boost sensitive and needs more decibels pushed earlier in the chain before it in order for the envelope to open. The controls are a...

    Fretless bass in r&b

So, Lamont Johnson (RIP) was the only internationally recognized bassist to play fretless bass in a r&b and soul context? Please tell me there are more examples, if it hasn’t been done since that’s a huge missed opportunity
