I'm thinking of getting a Dean Edge 10a and putting Ernie Ball's on them. I want to put on it medium to heavy gauge, but I've read reviews on Musician's Friend that this type of bass has a fairly thin neck, suggesting that heavy gauge strings are not ideal unless the truss rods are...

When recording with flat EQ, does that mean all the knobs are at zero or at 12 'o clock? I know it sounds dumb but I'm still not clear on that.

Link Removed I go with the basics, though I'm looking into a delay, octave, possibly an equalizer, compressor, and maybe something to replace the ODB-3. Nothing against it, just debating whether or not it really compliments the Big Muff.
