    this+++ As a seller I have had this happen after shipping a bass across the country. Seller eats the return shipping cost. I should have stated buyer pays for return.

    Sanded and stained the fingerboard. Jatoba was seriously red. Aftermarket pickguard.

    in defense of PJs

    I'm not a big fan of PJ's, and I've owned a few through the years both active and passive. The only one I really liked was the newer Fender Mustang. For some reason the pickups matched really well in that bass. But I'm sure there's another one out there just waiting for me to buy!

    Bass head + cab for $2,000

    I'm running a Mesa D800 head with the Subway 12 cab. When I play a 5 string, I swap the Subway to a GK Neo 15. No complaints, ( well maybe the neighbors).

    What is the proper way to weigh a bass "on your bathroom scale"

    Go to Walmart or some place like that and buy a luggage scale. $15. Hook it thru the strings at the tuners.Lift gently.

    Upgrading from Rumble 15-Thoughts on Hartke KB-12?

    I have a KB-12. I bought it for smaller gigs and it's ok. Hartke's are kind of underpowered IMO. That said I'm not a big fan of combo amps, especially playing with a drummer. Save your money and buy something decent.

    Who do you play for?

    This+++ To me music is a language. I can go around talking to myself, and I can play alone or with tracks. But the real kick I get is from the conversations in the songs with other players, and finding new expressions. But that's me. I've played gigs for hot dogs and pizza.
