I just got an American Deluxe jazz 5 the quality is quite good. It's totally worth it. MIA basses are fantastic so instead of saying your all about MIM and MIJ save your money.

I agree on the tone of Geddy Lee the guy is my total inspiration but his sound as of late isn't that great. I finally got a jazz bass but I'm sorry Geddy it wasnt because of you. Ok ok it at least looks like your Kalamazoo bass made in the USA.

I play a Modulus that to me I thought could never dethroned. Well even though I still play the modulus I'm blown away by this bass. I finally have 2 basses I plan on playing a very long time. . I was in your situation a few weeks back waiting on my fender.

It's personal preference if YOU like it then it's for you. Fender has went through some wacky times and as much as you legitimate squire lovers out there say your bass is better than an American made one I'll say Nothing beats my American made fender ill even say you wish you had my jazz bass...

I think before you buy a bass make sure you get the sound you want out of it. It usually takes me many times trying the same brand before I'll bite. I agree about the RIC I bought one due to my Geddy Lee love and I couldn't get use to it I was totally disappointed.

Fear any bass you don't take care of.
