Following on from my Dr J Sparrow refinish, I decided to go over my Joyo Ultimate Drive. Previously, I'd sanded the original paintwork, sprayed it off-white, and simply hand-drawn the letters on with nail polish and a Sharpie. It wasn't quite as amusing as I envisioned, so here's what I did...

Anyone had a chance to try it yet? If the low-end retention on the chorus/flanger/phaser is decent then I'm definitely going to have to buy one.

For me, 2 utility (compressor and preamp, almost always on) 2 effect (overdrive and flanger, song dependent). It's for a metal band so just keeping it simple.

Great video. My bandmate used to have the full-size version, and the Sub 2 was brown-note-inducingly low, so the mini seems ideal for bass players.

One more thing, here's the vector file I used, in case anyone wants to do the same thing. And if you feel like modifying it (such as including the 9V and ground-lift) the font is Invalid Link Removed

Made this board out of 2mm strips of aluminum, riveted together, velcro on top. Extremely flat profile. It was designed to fit perfectly inside my Gator bass case, so power is supplied by just a daisy-chain and a 1-Spot.

After the paint and clear coat fully dried, I swapped the blue LED to a red one, and reassembled it. It's done! Pretty bloody happy with this. Next project will be to fix up my Joyo Ultimate Drive by giving that one's "OCD-esque" conversion a better decal.
