Two years ago I ordered a Sparrow DI after reading some decent reviews on here about being an affordable SansAmp-esque pedal.
As much as I like the sound, I hated the excessive brown paint and weird font, so decided to give it a makeover.
The hardest part was figuring out how to apply yellow text over a black base, which I eventually did using a laser cutter and masking tape to burn an ad-hoc stencil.
I've got some black knobs with yellow indicators which have been on the pedal for a few months (much easier to read), and the final step will be to change the blue LED to red.
First few coats after the cut. Paper test on the left.
Results of peeling off the tape after more coats and drying time.
Picked out the pieces from the middle of closed letters and cleaned up the edges.
EDIT: The new knobs with old paint job.
