    G&L ASAT Semi-hollow fretless or L2005 fretless??

I agree, I play bass for my church, and rarely use the low B in that setting. But, it is often nice to have the 5th string when I am just playing around at home for my own enjoyment, especially if I'm playing something that was originally played with drop D tuning.

    G&L ASAT Semi-hollow fretless or L2005 fretless??

Gorgeous bass! Are those black nylons? Do you have a favorite gauge/brand for nylons? I've only ever bought one set.

    G&L ASAT Semi-hollow fretless or L2005 fretless??

Those are BEAUTIFUL! I'd like to hear more about why the L2005 is your all-time favorite and how its tone differs from the Carvin. Thanks for sharing!

    G&L ASAT Semi-hollow fretless or L2005 fretless??

Should I go for the ASAT semi-hollow or go solid body and get an extra string? Any other recommendations for neck profile, neck finish, and other options would be appreciated for my custom order! Thanks!

Advice Needed on Custom Building a LH Fretless Bass

Are there any mistakes I should stay clear of, like "nobody in there right mind puts double humbuckers on an ebony fretless"? Or do these guidelines not exist?

Advice Needed on Custom Building a LH Fretless Bass

I'll check out Warmoth, but it puts me in the same boat: Say I go with Warmoth or Kiesel, is swamp ash or alder a better tone wood for fretless? Does a P/J split offer a nice clean sound for fretless? Will humbuckers be too much? Ebony or rosewood on the fingerboard? Maybe there is no consensus...

Advice Needed on Custom Building a LH Fretless Bass

I have been shopping for a fretless, left-handed bass guitar for over a month without much luck. I currently play a 5 string active Ibanez with Nordstrands, and a Gibson Thunderbird. I used to have a cheap electric upright, but it has fallen apart. So, I am really jonesin' for a fretless. The...

2018 LTE Gibson Thunderbird (left handed) Thoughts and Pics

This beauty came in the mail on Wednesday, brand new from the manufacturer. The strings are set a little high, and the intonation was slightly off on two strings at the 12th fret. But for a factory set-up, I was very pleasd with it. From headstock to strap button, the bass is gorgeous. It stays...

    Anyone else waiting on Gibson?

I ordered a left handed LE 2018 Gibson Thunderbird and the retailer told me they were supposed to have been received from the Gibson manufacturer on May 23. It should be in, "any day now." Has anyone else had a similar experience?

    Amp/Cab advice needed

I have played bass guitar in my church band for years. I usually either run through a small Ampeg BA-110 or direct into the house. The main problem I have with running through my practice amp is that changing the volume on the amp changes the volume sent to the house. Also, the tone sent to the...

best (cheapest) way to get a p-bass tone

Thank you all for the feedback. I don't think I could the p tone out of the active big singles but ill try your advice scuzzy. Jefff, putting a p bass pickup in my iby would be the last thing I would ever do to my bass.I think the furys are a good option, but I haven't seen one as a lefty in a...

best (cheapest) way to get a p-bass tone

I play a 5 string ibanez SR 1205L and I would describe the tone as "clear, round, and full." I LOVE the bass and the tone. However, I have been on a punk rock binge (the Clash, sex pistols, social distortion) and I am tempted to buy a cheap, POS, p-bass just to get the tone. So my question is...

    Ibanez SR-1205 full review

Hey guys and gals. I bought a 2013 Ibanez Sr-1205L about a month ago and I thought I should post some pictures and share my thoughts for any curious minds. Basic info first: 5 string, active electronics with pickup pan, master volume, bass, mid, treble boast/cut, mid-range select switch, and a...

    The Hunt is Over!

For over three years, I have been playing bass on either a '84 Peavey Foundation (a nice bass but the neck is uncomfortable for me) and an upside-down '70 something Fender p-bass (also uncomfortable, and sometimes inconvenient due to the fact that i am playing it reversed). The p-bass' pickup...
