NBD: Cort is kinda incredible now?

Yeah, I've got a Cort acoustic that is a solid instrument for the price. It's taken a beating and still sounds and plays excellent. I've only gotten my hands on a few Cort basses at music stores, but every time I've played one, I've been pleasantly surprised and how much value you get out of them.

If you could take lessons from any bass player...

I'd get lessons from my old high school bass teacher... except this time I wouldn't be such a crappy teenage turd-biscuit this time around and I'd actually put some effort into trying to learn the stuff he was trying to teach me.

    All In One Guitar Basses?

Thanks for the review! Been waiting on this.

how has your taste in basses changed?

It's funny. I was the exact opposite. The first bass I had was a used Jackson Futura EX Professional Series. It was the best bass I could afford at the local music shop, but really wished it was a Fender. My bass teacher had a really awesome vintage 60's Fender P. It seemed like the coolest...

Why did you quit a band?

I quit one band because the lead guitarist was too all-in on it. He wanted it to be our "everything" and I was in college at that point. We hadn't even gotten our first show and he was talking about all of us selling our possession to put money together to get a conversion van so we could road...

What is the crappiest feature you've seen on a bass?...

Headstock doubles as a tuning fork.

What is the crappiest feature you've seen on a bass?...

Hey, when you sound like crap, you may as well have the bass designed to handle it. Wait... I think I need this bass.

What is the crappiest feature you've seen on a bass?...

Hmm, pedals are always the answer... especially this one.

    The Switch to Flats

Welp, the main thing I've learned about people's opinions on flats is that they're like fingerprints. Everyone has their own unique one! I'm still just giving them a shot. I'm feeling more used to them and just figuring out what tones I can get out of them and what I lose out on versus rounds...

    The Switch to Flats

I did it. I switched to flats (D'addario Chromes) on my Omen Extreme and... I have mixed feelings. I usually play rounds and gave flats a chance a while back on an old Fender Jazz I used to have. I've mostly been using the Omen to play with an acoustic guitar to do covers of classic rock and R&B...

    Yamaha Samurai

Very interesting bass. The headstock almost looks like a katana blade, which is rad.

    All In One Guitar Basses?

I'm just a sucker for value basses, which is why the $400 price on these All in One instruments make these interesting to me. It's one of the reasons I like Schecters and Corts. They're not the best basses by a longshot, but I like what you get for what you pay for. Oddly, I end up drooling...

    Best Bass for £700

Yep. Tone knobs are super-easy to swap out and pretty inexpensive to replace.

    Best Bass for £700

I love my Schecter Omen Extreme. Very comfortable neck and has a decent variety of tones. At the price, I think it's a really great value.
