NBD: Cort is kinda incredible now?

In my opinion, Cort has been kinda incredible for a long while now. I havent played guitar for money for over a decade but still have the Cort guitar that I did way back then and it's an amazing instrument for a $500 guitar. Still way better construction and quality than my $1000 Gibson Les Paul DC from the same era. My first "new" bass purchase was a Cort. I was able to become a bass player on that thing, so I dont see the issue with them that some seem to have.

One of my 3 Cort basses. It's fabulous. I love all 3. I will likely be getting one of the new B5 Element models. I'm not sure which color though.

Got one just like it, A5 Artisan. Neck through construction, Bartolini pickups and preamp, Hipshot hardware, nice low clean action. Of my 11 basses this is probably top 2 in quality of construction, playability, and tone wise. If the name on the headstock keeps the gear snobs from playing one it's their loss.

Gotta say, that's a really nice-looking j-bass. Yes, Cort is definitely not what it used to be! If you're as old as I am, you remember when "made in Japan" meant junk... things change! I have a Cort B4FL MHPZ fretless Artisan on order. As someone noted, the distribution in the USA isn't very good, so you often have to buy based on reviews, without getting your hands on it. I am positive that it will be a good bass... I hope I like it in my hands! Congrats on the j-bass, again. Glad you love it.

I was fortunate. There was a small "mom and pop" store in town. The young guy who worked there talked the owner into picking up the Cort line. I hung out there a lot, and was skeptical, but when the ones they ordered started coming in, I was really impressed with how nice they looked. I couldnt believe how nice they sounded and played. I bought one, then a second one, and when I finally wanted a bass, I got an A4. All of them were great.

That's great. I think mom 'n' pop shops are so smart when they stock the stuff that GC doesn't. Cort is an excellent choice!

I gotta be honest, the only time I see Cort basses is when I go into really local little music shops (the kind that school kids rent clarinets from). They're okay to play, but every time I go in the same 5 basses are hanging there. I'm sure they've improved over time.

I got into Cort acoustic guitars back in the mid 90's. They were great value Korean made guitars. I've owned two and my daughter has owned one. All of them were gig worthy acoustics and my daughter gigged hers for years until it was destroyed by an airline.

I've not owned any of their basses but have tried a few and in every case they played and sounded very, very good.

Yeah, I've got a Cort acoustic that is a solid instrument for the price. It's taken a beating and still sounds and plays excellent. I've only gotten my hands on a few Cort basses at music stores, but every time I've played one, I've been pleasantly surprised and how much value you get out of them.

If you guys who love/play mexico Fender Jazz bass, should try those GB54JJ/55JJ , 64JJ , 74JJ/JH and 35 scale 75JJ/JH bass.
Honestly, those bass has lot improvement on bass body design compare to Fender MIM Jazz. The sculpted neck joints and deeper horn cut just make you smile. Humcanceling j pup sound pretty close to single coil jazz pup but a bit brighter. They has no Fender slim j neck, but still smooth and comfort on hand.

Oh, you answering my question. I was wandering should i consider Cort GB instead of Fender Player. Is 54 model notisible lower in quality than 64 and how it is in compare to F Player? I just dont like active presence in cavity, even if one could on/off it

My several months GB74JJ suffer with unstable neck issue, but overall bass QC and tone are truly nice.
this neck problem been happended on my previous Cort Arona IV and Action DLX V. I suspect the Canadian Hard Maple neck use from Cort factory are still green !
Maybe the roasted maple neck on GB64JJ are the solution on banana neck problem.

If you care about the neck stable issue, just skip the GB bass and go forward to Fender Player Jazz.

Yes, stable neck is very important. Maybe somebody with 64 model can share experience with neck?
