Finaly got an update. It's been crazy around here with the kids in sports and what not. Anyway, I'm about halfway done with the hardware. Got the neck attached, tuners on, the bridge lined-up and mounted, the straplocks in place, and the football jack is done. Gold WAS the way to go...

The neck's profile isn't really what I consider a baseball bat. I used to have an old Tele bass that had a neck that could swallow this rosy neck whole. Nah, it's a very comfortable profile. I recommend rolling the fingerboard edges with all new Warmoth necks, that is unless you like that...

Not possible with the UV-cure poly system that Warmoth uses. It needs to be sent back, stripped, and redone. Ken will make it right. The nut looks good to me. The machine they have that does the nut work is primo.

Thanks for the props, folks. As to the hardware, I've held off on sending in the order until next paycheck. Gold hardware was brought up, and I agree that it would look great with the colors, but the thing with gold hardware is it has to be wiped down. In person, this bass looks browner...

Lull farms out his finish work. Always has. Use Pat Wilkins. Best poly finisher in the game....for years.

Sorry for not posting too much. You know how life gets sometimes: kids, honey-do lists, etc. Anyway, the body and neck are home. The finish on the body came out perfect. Like I said before, one of my best friends (who is very well known in the Les Paul refinish world) did the nitro on this...

No guard. On a side note: there's enough "variety" in the body's color that I think just about any hardware color would probably work fine.

Body's got 2 coats of clear to go...oiling the neck is next...
