Really liking the finish! Are you going to put on a pickguard, or is the wood too gorgeous to cover?
No guard.
On a side note: there's enough "variety" in the body's color that I think just about any hardware color would probably work fine.

My suggestion would be brushed chrome or something with a matte finish, nothing too shiny that'd take away from that lovely walnut. That's just my opinion, though...
Im running a split-P and a J (Carvin) and I love the P, but when it is used in conjunction with the J, volume goes way down. Mine is set up V-V-T.
Sorry for not posting too much. You know how life gets sometimes: kids, honey-do lists, etc. Anyway, the body and neck are home. The finish on the body came out perfect. Like I said before, one of my best friends (who is very well known in the Les Paul refinish world) did the nitro on this. He also rolled the fingerboard edges and trimmed out the fret ends for me. Last night I applied two applications of bore oil to the neck, and man, was this neck thirsty! I hardly had any excess to wipe-off. It'll get two more applications tonight after work. At this point, I think I'm going to go with all black hardware.

Looks nice! I would recommend chrome, since I've had issues with gold hardware. (For me, the gold plating eventually wore off and looked like chrome underneath.)
Warmoth or not, I'm amazed, especially since it's a J-P-J combo. Can't wait to see what it'll turn out like. The wood looks absolutely stunning.

I recently had a JPJ bass built for me by Chris Stambaugh and we decided to go with a 3-way switch and a blend knob. The switch selects certain pickup combos and the blend knob selects pickups within those combinations. For instance:
With the switch centered and the knob flat, all three pickups are activated.
With the switch centered and the knob rolled off, only the bridge J and the P are on.
With the switch forward and the knob flat, both J pickups are selected. Etc.
And of course there's middle ground too- it's not all or nothing.
I don't know about the technical stuff, but you could probably shoot Chris an email if it sounds like something you'd be interested in.
