I have both of these CV’s. The 50’s has a Frailin split coil (no noise) and the 60’s has an EMG Geezer Butler P pickup. The necks are radically different the 50’s is chunky, a real handful for players used to narrow necks, the 60’s is not a true 60’s style neck, it has a somewhat more standard...

Hi John, arthritis has finally invaded my hands, things are getting harder to execute. Short scales and Minis are some what doable, 35” are difficult and 34” work for a few songs, but shorties allow me to play a whole set without pain. Old age is a real pain in the joints……..arrrrrrhhhh!!

The weak spot is not the pickup, it’s the preamp that’s the weak link. Replace the preamp first, and you may not want to change the pickup. I also prefer the original 2 band pre over the newer 3 band pre.

Mine had the Altec 421a in it, a few years later I picked up a matching 2nd cab that had a CTS in it. A few years later I upgraded both cabs to JBL D140’s, sounded killer. Replaced them years later with EVM SRO’s, which are in them today.

A Bunker ATK neck? A rare find! If the price is right I would take a chance!! I’m sure you have researched how to adjust the Bunker tension free neck. I would love to find one, my ATK is still one of my favorite for slap style.

I never really think of them as a collection, if I play one I like, I get it !! I have been playing for over 50 years, so I have accumulated quite a few. Just went into the "ManCave" and counted 26 basses. I think I may have a problem :D

I have three 55-01's, replace the pre first. You may just stop after that, the difference is huge and the stock MK1 pickups are very good with a better pre. #3 Stock MK1 pickups/USA Bart Pre #2 USA Bart pickups/USA Bart Pre #1 Aguilar Super Singles/Sadowsky Pre with VTC

What type of mics are you looking for ? I used to own a PA rental outfit we just closed down and all I have left is mics and cables..............lots of mics and cables :cool:, some still new in the box. And I need a bass pre for a jazz/jag FrankenBass.
