So- just purchased my first G&L (SB-2T USA)... ‘E’ tuner vibrating... driving me nuts (not an issue whilst amplified). Called G&L- spent 2 mins. on the phone- new tuner on the way!! ;)

May not be ‘much’ but I’ve spent hours working out similar issues with other companies... :jawdrop: just wanted to express my excited gratitude to the (TB) world!!! :D:D

Yep, G&L is solid and will take care of you. Nice bass there man!

Thx!

Hi John!
Beautiful, what a classic. I used to have the Tribute version, great bass.
What size neck did you get?

Dale

Thx Dale- hope all is well... its 1.5”- thats why I got this one!

SB-2T!
How does the tone control sound compared to the lack of one on the regular SB-2s?

Welp- I actually ordered (according to the MF pic) the ‘non-tone’ version... but this is what they sent. I don’t have any experience with the non-tone version- so really can’t provide a good assessment. But the tone is very similar to my 3 P’s.

Not sure how many factory SB-2Ts are out there, might be 1 in 100, so I'd have to say you got lucky.
I've been looking for one to go along with my L2000 for quite a while...has to be just the right color...so it's not easy finding a Ruby Red Metallic one, for example.
Missed out on a Royal Purple Metallic one a few months back.

Glad they sent you a replacement without giving you any trouble!

I wonder what's up with those G&L tuners though. I had the same issue with a couple of the tuners on another G&L USA bass earlier this year, and I've heard similar stories about them from others before. At least it was only ~$17.99 to buy a replacement tuner directly from G&L.

I contacted them twice about a L-2000, & they sent me a new part both times, but the 2nd time the controls cover was a wildly different size than the damaged one on the bass.

My ASAT had a rattle at the machine head & the local luthier fixed it with a quick smack with a rubber mallet & a tool punch.

new tuner on the way!! ;)

Wow, so they're sending you a new tuner when the machine head was faulty?
