Ampeg 7 pro will drop in and shave off lots of weight.

How should a 3 piece band set up?

Use a bass with a pointy headstock.

Hipshot Drop-D Players: How Do You Compromise on String Gauge?

Meh, I just do it. No thought about the tension, just try not to play so hard as to go sharp. I use the gauge I put on for standard tuning and I deal with the minor compromise when dropped.

Tricked Out Squier Club Part 3

You are correct on the protone and the black and chrome- It came to me with a green peal guard, and I put on the black pearl. The 3rd is a parts bass from a standard body and a P bass neck. I believe I did a little bit of slow sanding to fit the geezer J's.

Tricked Out Squier Club Part 3

Most of these have kickass hip shot bridges and ultralight tuners. A few have drop tuners. Most have the geezers except the ADJ which has emgs and an obp3. The passive jazz is a parts mashup of squier neck and body. I put a tusqnut on the ADJ.

    Question about picks

It took me a while of trying different pick to settle on 1mm thickness as my preference. It took even longer to realize I prefer nylon picks, and then the last step was finding the "Max Grip" textured picks.

Does anyone have experience with YouTube showing them Nazi music, or have any idea how to stop it?

Just click to block the channels you don't want recommended. My dad was visiting me and was using my TV to watch youtube. For the next month I was seeing "Cruise Ship Review" channel recommendations. Obviously not as bad a Nazi BS, but still annoying. It took a minute, but I no longer get...

Catastrophe at rehearsal...lesson learned: BOSS GT-6B

I've never played a gig that "required" patches. Is this a Muse cover band or something?

    playing under the influence

I generally will have a couple of beers while playing a 4 hour bar set, never getting much more than a little buzz. I once played with a guy that was so drunk he started playing the solo section from the wrong song, so he didn't last. Eventually we had to kick him because he couldn't make...

    5-string 21mm spacing at bridge

I think the Ibanez BTB series is 20mm spacing at the bride IIRC

So NOW the Band Leader wants to start having rehearsals?

I would just enjoy the band for what it is or quit. No sense trying to give ultimatums to people who are not on the same page as you. This is just a hobby after all right? If you put in all of this time and effort to improve your performance, but the rest of the band kind of wings it, then...

    Sliding chords on fretless

Steve is just really, really good at fretless. He does slide power chords and or double stops often. Another fun trick is sliding harmonics, which can only be done on a fretless.

Do you still get excited about new gear, or are you “done”?

After buying my ampeg 7 pro, my search was over. I have only purchased my PF350 and my Fender Rumble 500 for practice/small gig amps. Even those were bought used and I have no intention to replace them. For cabinets I've settled on a pair of 8 ohm avatar TB153's of which I only ever use one...

    Flat panel amps? (Eminent Technology)

Magneplanar speakers always are paired with a sub in hifi setups (plus a ribbon tweeter usually). The low HZ interfere with the overall response if you try to push the drivers too low. I suppose an instrument amp isn't designed for a hifi "flat" response so maybe this could work. I'd be...

    Chord is driving me crazy

That little tri-tone lick is a classic blues trick to make the bass line sound a little funky. I hear Van Halen use that sometimes.
