Thinking off adding one more pedal to this board. What would you add?

This being very close to my own board except for one effect, I would go for an (MXR) Envelope Filter. Chorus, drive and envelope filter are the only on / off effects I've consistently found use for outside of utility like preamps, tuners and compressors. As someone else noted, filling that...

Official Darkglass Club: Welcome to the Darkside

EDIT: Question has been answered by Darkglass Support! Answer: Darkglass NSG has to be turned on and set to Red mode manually each time it's turned on. There is no workaround or 'alternate mode' to change this behaviour.

Official Darkglass Club: Welcome to the Darkside

Hey all, Haven't posted in years but needed some input on a little conundrum. Kept going back and forth between DG flavours. Currently have a Hyper Luminal that I mostly get on with, and an Alpha Omega that's here to stay. I play a Warwick, mostly metal these days but I also sub for a lot of...

Need feedback choosing Darkglass pedal combo

Not at all, it just gives you different options / sounds to work with!

Need feedback choosing Darkglass pedal combo

Funny you post this as I've just spent the last couple weeks figuring out the same for myself. Personally I went with a seperate compressor (DG Hyper Luminal) because I already have a SansAmp to serve as my amp-sim / DI-box, and because I already had a Harmonic Booster as well. The order of...

    Replacement for Ashdown Lomenzo Hyperdrive?

From what I've heard of the Hyperdrive I've always thought the EBS Billy Sheehan drives had a similar 'thing' going on! The clean side is entirely clean but can be compressed, and then you add a dirt channel that you can filter to best compliment your cleans for your purposes. It uses a simple...

    Small OD recommendations

I want to just +1 this! I got myself a B1K because of space limitations, and even though the tone is pretty much identical to the B3K, some of the controls being hidden behind that rear panel really don't do it any favors. Especially when velcro'd to a board. I do a lot of tweaking and trying...

Thinking of picking up a EQ pedal

I've used the MXR for quite some time and I always really liked it. It's not one to help with boominess (use my end-of-chain preamp/DI for that) but it's a very good pedal to shape the rest of your sound. I really liked the frequencies they picked for bass. Very musical. The Boss GEB-7 I wasn't...

Sansamp BDDI v2 question - Is this normal?

I had the previous Bass Driver for years, and noticed a similar thing on the V2 when I got it. They appear to have boosted the output quite a bit over the previous version which was definitely needed. However, that seems to have made it so that when the higher output SansAmp circuitry is...

    Plug your band!!!

My first video with this band, but also somehow my first music video appearance in about 17 years of making music. Go figure.

Black Instruments & Black Metal XD

I've recorded and gigged two black metal records with one of my bands, Adversarius. I've used four basses in that time frame, and not one of them was even close to being black. People seemed more concerned with my own being partially black than whatever instrument I was playing :D. Just use...

Official Darkglass Club: Welcome to the Darkside

It really depends on what you want your drive to do, and what character you want your drive to have. Out of the two, the tone of the B3K is more comparable to the tone of the BDDI, so if you want to retain that character in your more distorted sound as well... go B3K. The VMT is great, but...

Official Darkglass Club: Welcome to the Darkside

After having done a rehearsal with the Vintage Deluxe just yesterday,,, You really do want the Vintage Deluxe or Ultra for those tones, imo. The B7K can do it, for sure, but that infamous midnotch does do a thing to the voicing which always give it a bit more of a hi-fi tone. The 'kinda muddy'...

    I Must Resist!!!

Man, I totally agree and I friggin' love it. Beetles are awesome. Also, OP, snap it up! I had a BTB... 745 I believe, and if I hadn't gotten an injury on my right hand making the string spacing and scale a bit of an issue, I never would've sold it. As someone else has said, you can always...

    Vintage Microtubes Genre Settings

I've used it for pop, rock, funk and metal, and even lent it out to a guitarist for certain projects. The settings varied wildly from band to band (and bass to bass), but mostly... if I needed clarity and cut, I would up the blend, lower the gain, and push the Era knob to either 3 o'clock or...
