Can't Identify Fender Jazz Bass Version

The potentiometer and inner (button) portion of that S1 knob are pretty easy to find. The outer portion of the knob is a bear to find! Don't lose the one you have.

    Jazz Bass S1 Switch Install

Just curious . . . I see 2 part numbers for the Jazz Bass S-1 pot. 000-1260-000 and 000-1260-049. By their description, they appear to be the same part. Does anyone know if there is a difference between the two?

    Jazz Bass S1 Switch Install

The elusive S-1 lower knob has finally arrived! Born in Corona, California it traveled to Aalesund, Norway and back to Nevada USA! Seems crazy, but it was the only one I could locate.

    Jazz Bass S1 Switch Install

I can definitely attest to the fact that the S1 knob is impossible to find. I found the push button portion, but the lower knob is a *@#$^! to find.

    60th Anniversary

Hi all, Happy holidays! I have a 2006 American Series Jazz Bass. I thought I read that all guitars produced for 2006 had a "Diamond Anniversary" 60th designation. Does anyone know if this is the case? Mine does not have anything that identifies an anniversary year. Thanks!

American Series JB - Ash or Alder?

Not that anyone is hanging on the edge of their seat for this, but I dug a little deeper and found some sales specs for the American Series Jazz Bass line. It seems only the Sunset Orange Transparent used an Ash body. So although I can see the grain in my Butterscotch Blonde, it's Alder. I'm...

    (Lack of) Humidity

I'm in the middle of the desert here, so I can relate. I recently purchased Boveda 49% Humipacks to throw in guitar cases. I've used them for years in my cigar humidor and they keep the humidity level consistent. When they dry up, I toss in another.

American Series JB - Ash or Alder?

Thanks for the reply! The finish on mine is transparent (semi?), so I guess I can assume it is ash. :)

American Series JB - Ash or Alder?

I noticed that the American Series Jazz Basses were either Alder or Ash depending on color. I have a 2006 in Butterscotch Blonde. Just curious to know what I have and what colors determined which wood was used. Anybody familiar with these? photo upload site

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Yes. They pointed me toward a number of parts resellers. I've come up empty handed. No one has them. I have the actual switch (pot) and the center "button" portion, I'm just missing the lower knob. Frustrating. I can't believe this little part is that rare.
