Hello everyone!
I am looking for a video tutorial or guide for the installation of the Jazz Bass S1 Switch Install.
All I've found so far is a diagram, but I'd like to see if anyone has any guidance.
The S1 Switch it's for my Squier Vintage Modified 77 of 2017

The thing is unless you can actually find the knob and the center push button portion I do not recommend buying one. Fender seems to stop making the knobs

Or just install a mini D.P.D.T. Toggle Switch as I did. I typically preferred to use the Fender S-1. Easier to use and easier to wire up until recently I installed a mini switch because I needed room to put a battery in the control cavity to power the EMG BCT Preamp

This.
The S-1 is great if you need a 4PDT switch for more elaborate wiring/switching. However, for simple series/parallel in a J, just get a push/pull.
The problems with the S-1
1. You have to get the proper pot that works with the knob/actuator. There is a 'solid shaft' version for the P/Tele/J and 'splined' for the Strat.
2. It's not a very hearty build. I installed an S1 on my P bass. With careful and infrequent use, it broke within 6 months. I then installed another and it's been holding up, but I also only play that bass once every several months vs every several days. I have also two friends that had their S1 switches go bad. 2 of the 3 were the thin pin that trips the switch, one was the whole pot going bad.
3. Expensive. A good quality push/pull is $15ish.
4. The knobs, finding the knobs!

Also, a standard D.P.D.T. mini toggle does the job too!
I had one S-1 go bad years ago but the other two no problems for the 5 years the last one was installed in. So yes they can be problematic but so can push/pull pots with switch.
