    Check out the bands Aurra, Quazar, Roy Ayers, Maze, Dynasty, EW&F. Teena Marie and Stanley Clarke both played some funky music, but you'll have to search for specific songs.

    Mark Adams from the band Slave was very 'in your face'. Same with Jack Casady in Jefferson Airplane (especially live) and Stanley Clarke in Return to Forever.

    Look up bands that John Garcia (Kyuss vocalist) has worked with. Most of it is in C.

    Double strap design (like a 'Y' where the 'I' end goes to the back and the 'V' to the horn) works wonders on my Epi JC.

    As someone who owned both a precision bass and a Jack Casady signature, I can tell you that these basses sound very much alike. Of course YMMV...

    hand pain!

    I would try wearing a latex glove and a silk glove at the same time. The latex one would isolate the skin from strings and the silk one allow free movement of the fretting hand.

    Alembic pickups price/maitnence

    Hey Gerbera, I have read the same story about Stanley on Alembic Club. These orange epoxy pickups are the old ,discontinued type and can be delicate, again so I have read. Still, I think You have nothing to worry about if you dont abuse your bass.
