    Slight hum coming from pickup?

I have the same problem, but I can only hear the hum when the tone knob is way up. Still the same thing when I touch the strings, bridge or cable that is plugged in my bass, the noise stops (but can still be heard slightly).

Paradriver, Bass driver or Zoom B2

So I have some money to spend and want to buy a good pedal. Should i get Sansamp Paradriver or Zoom B2+EH Big Muff? What difference is there in Paradriver over Bass Driver, except the sweepable mid. Is BD better for a bass, because I could really use that extra mid knob :D. I am also going to...

    Lakland 4401 neck replacement pickup

Or I could put a nordstrand fat stack? I have never heard either nordstrands so if anyone could tell me what's the difference in their sound and do they sound close to the real p pickup.

    Lakland 4401 neck replacement pickup

Well I still have that need, a need for a more p sounding pickup on my 44-01. Those bartolinis are great when both of them are on. But the neck pickup just lacks that... warmth that the p bass has. So I was thinking about putting a seymour duncan SCPB-3 to get that tone. But the problem is that...

    Jack & Danny basses

Yes there are, I think it's best to buy from German sites because they have some contract with Croatia that we only have to pay shipping and don't have to pay (I think) tax. That's why I was thinking about getting J&D bass, because they are sold from German site called www.musicstore.de. If...

    Jack & Danny basses

And all of those basses have have cheap wood: basswood and agathis. J&D have alder, the same wood as the fenders... well at least MIM ones. And I will change the electronics so no need to think which ones have better pickups.

    Jack & Danny basses

Only problem is, if I decide to change the neck with some fender... I can't, because it has 21 frets, and all of the p bass neck have 20 frets. I just hope J&D basses have a decent fret job.

    Jack & Danny basses

Thanks for the info! But I don't need the scans because I can't read german... So I guess i will be buying one soon ;)

    Jack & Danny basses

I'm thinking of getting one because they are cheap and they have alder body. I would have gone for SX bass but the shipping to Croatia is more expensive than the bass itself (and their headstocks are very ugly). So has anyone heard about these basses or has anyone played them? And what nut width...

    Lakland 44-60/55-60/44-64/55-64

I like the new "elongated" shape, kind of reminds me of Spector basses.

    Lakland 44-60/55-60/44-64/55-64

Will they be bringing back Daryl Jones model, now that they can name it different?

    Lakland 44-01 with P pickup

@4Mal I was thinking about getting Nordstrand big splits, but i haven't had a chance to hear them and compare them to P pickups. How do they sound in your opinion? @dannnnn That is a great idea, but what j pickup sounds the closest to the p? And does the spb-1 pickup have less output...

    Lakland 44-01 with P pickup

As the title says i want to install a P pickup in my 44-01. I was thinking Seymour Duncan SPB-1 or SPB-2. So here is a couple of questions: 1. Which sounds better, I'm going for Gordon Moakes (Bloc Party bassist) kind of sound. 2. What is a better pickup to go with 44-01's bridge pickup...
