I do not carry a back up amp. I dont even carry a primary amp. I carry a DI box, my bass, and my pedals. Ive never needed a backup anything. If a pedal doesnt work, I just take it out of the chain and fix it later. Easy, Simple, Load off my back.

I have carefully looked mine over and you can see where some of the clear coat seeped in between the inlay and neck. If it's all 100% smooth, they might be painted on.

usually, the battery in my John Myung Signature last about 6 months. It lasts only 3 months when I use it alot.

I personally only run direct. Bass cabs are too much of a hassle and i think they just take up space so I run direct

I dont like ANY ampegs, they all sound the same and they are just loud. Invest in something that sounds good

I use DR Hi-Beams on a Copley CBE-61 and Rotosounds on my John Myung bass and even they are very bright strings, they sound great

you just named my two favorite bands of all time I also own Geddy's and one of John's signature basses I refuse to vote

yes, definitely my biggest "handicap" I go through bass strings every month because of how hard I play you can clearly distinguish what I am playing without an amp

I personally have no problems and I play fingerstyle with three fingers so go for it but in the occasion that I use a pick (2% of the time) I play close to the neck so it doesnt bother me
