I can tell the difference with Ernie Balls. The Regular Slinky set is a lot meatier than the Super Slinky set. And the only difference is .005 added to each string.

You need to try out the Regular Slinkys. The Regulars last longer, at least mine do. They have more meat to them. As far as price a set, go to Best Buy and get them for $15.99. Guitar Center has them for $29.99 per 2 sets.

I bet more of those made in China basses are being sold in China then in the USA. China has a pretty good economy now and Fender is probably selling some basses to some Chinese.
