Hi everyone and merry xmas :) Anyone has experience swapping tuners to lightweight gotoh tuners on a 59 fullerton P? Im in doubt about fit and getting the right ones ;)

You guys sound great! I played in a really good Zeppelin coverband 10 years ago. Hard to find a drummer and a singer who can match those guys ;) Still miss that band from time to time. Maybe we will do a reunion one day:) Good luck with the sale!

Thats a cool story! Was orange a colour?I read somewhere that Gilmour was on tour and needed a new guitar. They went in a store and ender up buying a whole batch of ri strats because they where so good. His red -and i think Also the Black- strats are both 83 fullertons!

The smith and fullerton era is 82-85. as far as i've read. When they came to fender in 81 they say it was a total shitshow from a quality viewpoint, producing over 800 instruments a day with a 98% yield. In other words there was no quality control and it was a matter of quantity over quality. So...

No not interested in the bass.. I was just curious about the asking price. I have a hard time understanding why anyone would price a 80's bass in the same league as a refinished 60s. Is it just because of the color? That's just insane if the case. I know custom colors in general gets the prices...

So i decided to keep the bass. After a thorough setup there is no issues with buzzing, and it sounds and feels amazing. Got it cleaned gently with a soft damp microfiber cloth and a lot of patience ;) Here are some better pics :)

Interesting. I know there is a fullerton reissue owners club, but thats not what you are refereing to is it? Is it the Color or patina you mean whean you say "look"? :)
