Fret dress on a fanned fret/multiscale bass

Cheers, will give that a shot tonight ;) That sounds interesting for sure, if the condition gets worse I might have to look if there is something similar over here, guess with shipping and fees it will not be worth it to ship to them from Europe.

Fret dress on a fanned fret/multiscale bass

Thanks, that eases my mind :) Cheers, fingers crossed the "fall away" will be enough, for now it sets ups well enough for me so I wouldn't go for a re-planing/fretting just yet. I just noticed that it starts buzzing on the higher frets starting around the 12th with the relief set at my normal...

Fret dress on a fanned fret/multiscale bass

Hello, I know this might be stupid question but it would be great if someone could give me peace of mind here. Is there any difference in levelling frets on a multiscale/fanned fret bass compared to a normal instrument? I recently acquired a Dingwall Combustion that suffers from a slight case of...

String options for Dingwall 4 String

Cheers, yeah with shipping and now added tax/customs it will be quite expensive ordering from bassdirect. I haven't done the full maths but it might be cheaper ordering from payson in the us directly. In the meantime I also found that Pyramid strings, who are basically next door to me (~15km)...

String options for Dingwall 4 String

Ciao and thanks for the infos. I hear you about the Dingwall strings and unless I'm mistaken the previous owner has those installed so I will be able to try them, but even with the added scale length I can't imagine a 100 being enough for D or even C. I know about Kalium and also the Payson Drop...

String options for Dingwall 4 String

Hello, I have a Combustion 4 String coming in and I'm wondering what options I have regarding strings. It will be tuned to D-Standard (DGCF) with the occasional drop to C on the low D so the Dingwall 100-45 might be a bit too flabby on the low side and I'm curious if any other standard sets will...

Max string gauge for a Jazz Bass

Thank you, yea the 105 feels a bit loose when tuned to D, hope the 110 will do the job

Max string gauge for a Jazz Bass

Does anybody know the maximum gauge I can put on my 4 string 2012 Am Std Jazz Bass without having to work on the nut? Currently playing 105-45 on Eb Standard and the band wants to try D Standard to assist our ageing singer and and I could do with a bit more tension especially on the low D but I...

    Powered Kemper gigging experience wanted

Hey, well for me the Kemper didn't make it out of the rehearsal room as I sent it back after trying it out for two weeks. It sounded good and all but not that much better than my GK to justify the pricetag. The builtin poweramp was loud enough with my 8 ohms cab but despite its 600W it didn't...

    The next SVT !?

This was probably already posted somewhere in here but for me the answer is the Kemper profiling amplifier. I tried one myself and heard one used live several times and while it's not 100% there, with good profiles it is the closest to an actual SVT while keeping the weight low.

New Darkglass Bass Heads (Microtubes V2 and Alpha Omega)

Definitely interested, I'm planning to scale down on weight from my GK Fusion 550 and already been eyeing the current MT500/900 but I guess I'll wait until those are available to try out now. Was there a reason for putting the compressor after the preamp/drive stages? I haven't used comps a lot...

NAD! SVT content, from my post Cheap SVT

Happy new amp day :) Love the tone and feeling of those, if only they weren't so heavy drool

    Powered Kemper gigging experience wanted

Cheers, I get what you meant now. Guess I'll try the Kemper forums for some more advice but yea, nothing short of trying it myself will really solve my issue. Might look for a B-Stock so I don't feel to bad if I have to send it back in case the poweramp doesn't deliver..

    SVT-3 Pro - We've got issues!

Have you tried plugging your bass in the fx return and if possible run the send to another poweramp? That way you could at least figure out if the problem is in the pre or poweramp.

    Powered Kemper gigging experience wanted

Can you elaborate on that? You can obviously get a more powerful poweramp and one that does 4ohms without mentioned limitations but those wouldn't be issues for me and I really like the idea of having everything in one device and I also already have a rack I'd like to keep that won't fit an...
