NAD! SVT content, from my post Cheap SVT

I got to the music store at 8:45 this morning. Below freezing, and I didn't have a hat or gloves. I was about 20th. in line, and my heart was sinking that one of them was there for the SVT. They opened the doors at 10:00 and there was a riot, people finding stuff and literally sitting on it. There was the SVT.
2011 made in China, in GREAT shape. $603 (U.S.) $799 CDN. 2 tiny dings in the tolex, and one missing knob.
I sparked it up, fan good, no noisy pots, shook the connectors, all the tubes glowing evenly. all OK.
Grabbed a MIA jazz bass, and Holy Dog! Sounds just like an SVT should. With the master on 2, and the gain on 4 I shook the foundations!
I took it to the counter, and re-affirmed that it had a 30 day return, and 90 day warranty. The manager said he'd throw in the 1 year warranty ($120 reg.)
I've wanted an SVT since I was 12 years old.
I have a gig Sunday, can't wait!! It's on top of my 2 GK Neo 112's.

I'm 65 and have been using them for over 40 years and I have got to say that after all the old 40 year old geezers here:laugh: posting that they love SVT's but can't lift them anymore because they're too heavy is pretty funny with your being a gurl and all:roflmao:. Congratulations you have probably bought the last amp you'll ever need in your life. Now you might want to think about getting an 810 SVT cab, the ultimate solid bass tone.

Every day, pick it up off the floor, set it on your speaker system of choice, rock out as long as you want, set it back on the floor. You'll live to 100 with that simple exercise program ;)

Congratulations on a great amp! I wish I played gigs loud enough to use mine more....

Congrats , yer gonna love it. Fliptops should have the knob. I have a couple of 8 10 s with really crappy tolex on them. I took a razor knife and cut away any tolex that had lifted and just painted the spots black with some spray semi gloss black paint. Can't notice it from 10 feet away. FWIW , I paid around $900 for mine. This was several years ago.

Great score! I love mine. Get a cab with good casters and it’s no big deal. I transfer it out the back of my SUV on top of my Ampeg cab and it’s all wheels from there. No biggie. For the tone??? Well worth it. Voice of the gods!

Congrats! They are the bomb. I absolutely love mine. I've been super spoiled using smaller amps lately, but it's one amp I would never think about getting rid of. There is something about it that is just so solid, they will ruin you for tone.

I'm gearing up for a tribute band, where we will be setting up the stage plot to be exactly like the bend we are emulating. He uses two 810 cabs, so I'm getting ready to buy another 810 cab to go with the one I already have. It won't be plugged in, but I will be using the other. I'll be on bigger stages so I'm excited to get back to using mine again.

I'd suggest getting a case for it, at least a heavy cover. It protects and allows the amp to slowly cool down if moving outside in cold weather, and not get shocked by the sudden temp change. (Maybe not a big issue, but in the winter I often deal with -0 temps, and I hate taking a hot amp with glass tubes out in that.) I know that adds weight, but I've heard of a lot of players complain about the knobs getting sheared off during transport as well. Take it with a grain of salt, I'm just trying to help you protect your baby.
