Great score! I love mine. Get a cab with good casters and it’s no big deal. I transfer it out the back of my SUV on top of my Ampeg cab and it’s all wheels from there. No biggie. For the tone??? Well worth it. Voice of the gods!

I'd suggest getting a case for it, at least a heavy cover. It protects and allows the amp to slowly cool down if moving outside in cold weather, and not get shocked by the sudden temp change. (Maybe not a big issue, but in the winter I often deal with -0 temps, and I hate taking a hot amp with glass tubes out in that.) I know that adds weight, but I've heard of a lot of players complain about the knobs getting sheared off during transport as well. Take it with a grain of salt, I'm just trying to help you protect your baby.

I already ordered a custom cover from CoverAmp. I think they are the best you can buy.

I have this one. It's cheap and built like a tank. I've used it to wheel around an 810 multiple times. This will easily move that head and is half the cost of the Rock and roller cart.

I've had one for two years and it's rock solid.

That sounds good in theory but I would HIGHLY recommend a road case for this head. You can score one used. Just my 2 cents.

My mini rig of doom! Flight case on the bottom, and makes for a great compact rig. The head hasn't made it out of my apartment for a while, but it sure kills jamming at home. Without a doubt your mini rig will sound killer on Sunday's gig! Please post some pictures after your gig.

We have those at work and I’ve had to replace the casters, but it was an easy fix.

I got to the music store at 8:45 this morning. Below freezing, and I didn't have a hat or gloves. I was about 20th. in line, and my heart was sinking that one of them was there for the SVT. They opened the doors at 10:00 and there was a riot, people finding stuff and literally sitting on it. There was the SVT.
2011 made in China, in GREAT shape. $603 (U.S.) $799 CDN. 2 tiny dings in the tolex, and one missing knob.
I sparked it up, fan good, no noisy pots, shook the connectors, all the tubes glowing evenly. all OK.
Grabbed a MIA jazz bass, and Holy Dog! Sounds just like an SVT should. With the master on 2, and the gain on 4 I shook the foundations!
I took it to the counter, and re-affirmed that it had a 30 day return, and 90 day warranty. The manager said he'd throw in the 1 year warranty ($120 reg.)
I've wanted an SVT since I was 12 years old.
I have a gig Sunday, can't wait!! It's on top of my 2 GK Neo 112's.

I'm 65 and have been using them for over 40 years and I have got to say that after all the old 40 year old geezers here posting that they love SVT's but can't lift them anymore because they're too heavy is pretty funny with your being a gurl and all. Congratulations you have probably bought the last amp you'll ever need in your life. Now you might want to think about getting an 810 SVT cab, the ultimate solid bass tone.

Thought I was doing ok @ 62; oh I forgot that you senior citizens only bring one(1) 8x10 instead of two(2).

I still have two cabs and two heads, the last time I brought two cabs to a gig the guitar player took one look at them all set up and before I even turned them on he started complaining "That's too loud" I haven't really used two full time for about 15 years.

Nice! The only way I could get an SVT-CL out of MF for $600 was to buy it in condition 4 and fix it up myself.

Through the TE cabs it's a little midrangy, but not in a bad way. I just warm them up a little with the eq and enjoy. I can't get too loud in my apartment with the set up, but at practice levels it sounds absolutely Ampeg. The SVT doesn't leave my apt in the winter, it stays snuggled up nice and warm in my practice room, but it comes out in the spring. It toured with me non stop for two years all over the country, so it's had the last few years off on light duty. It earned the right lol.
