My experience is a different one. I had tried quite a bunch of strat-style pickups and basically all worked, but of course soundwise several ones did not meet my taste. As well there are several strat-style pickups which may be problematic because of size, for example vertical humbuckers and...

Couple of questions on MIJ/CIJ Fender Mustangs and how they compare to MIM/Vintera

my 2 ct: I once had a MIJ from 2006 in vintage white and I could not really connect with it. I had the impression, the sound was much more "damped" or "dullish" in comparison to my musicmaster bass, which had more "clarity" and "openness" in its sound. But maybe I am just not a mustang guy. I...

Honestly, no. I bought some for 600 - 800 Euros several years ago, but that was my maximum. I was curious that time, if 1971 Musicmaster Basses would be better than the later ones, but, no, they just were a bit different. I went with Squier Bronco Basses instead. I still have 2 Musicmasters and...

I had 2000, 2002, 2006 and 2020 (SHP) Broncos and a 2007 Badtz-Maru. All had the smaller cheaper pots, but functionally ok. I do not remember the caps though.
