For Sale Relic'd Fender Musicmaster/Mustang/bronco hybrid with T.I jazz flats. Now with sound clips.

Can you tell if the neck came from an older Fender Bronco, or a later Squier? At any rate, I'm interested. I've been looking for a shortscale Mustang and am not thrilled with the newer offerings and can't afford vintage. EDIT: I'm not sure there ever was a Fender Bronco Bass?

    Mustang vs Eastwood Warren Ellis

Never played either one. It will be easier to get hands on a Mustang without having to buy one first. I'm interested in a short scale. The Warren Ellis model has a pickup that was apparently designed to work well though guitar pedals and amps. I think that would be an interesting option...

Yet another P bass thread....this time about covers.

I'm adding both covers to see how I like them because I like the look. The bridge cover will house the occasional mute, and I'm going to see how I like anchoring my thumb and/or fingers on the pickup cover. As for the original intent, I'd say, as many people have in this thread, that the...

Exactly the bass I want... 70s J, black w/ tortoise guard, bound maple neck, rosewood with pearloid blocks. A little rich for my blood. I'll have to settle for a MIM RI, or a parts build. Congrats on a beautiful bass.

John Baker Saunders Mad Season, Walkabouts

Wow, this is incredible. I absolutely loved Mad Season back then, and still do today. By '95 the bloom had fallen off of the Seattle scene, but I've always felt Mad Season was one of the best bands from that era even though they were technically a "super group". It is really cool that his...

    Practice Amps: Ampeg VS Fender

I bought a Rumble 25 on a whim because it was cheap as a Sam Ash floor demo. I knew nothing about it, assumed because of its size it had a 10" speaker. I've used it for several jams with a garage rock trio. It kept up with a non-ham fisted drummer and a guitarist playing through a Music Man...

    Base for P Bass mods

    Base for P Bass mods

Has anyone had luck putting a Fender licensed neck on a Xavier Precision Bass, or one of the P bodies sold through guitar fetish? They’re cheaper than the nicer Squiers and probably better quality than the lowest end Squiers. Maybe a fools errand but I might want to mess around with it.

Why not gig with the T-40? Too heavy? I don't have one (I have a T-20) but I understand they weigh a ton. I'm not a gigging bassist, so I'm just curious if there are other reasons.

Help Me Design a Practice Routine

Just to put a point on this thread, I have been practicing specific things, using a timer, and journaling for 5 days now and I am already seeing improvement. It is very small, but in only 5 days I can see the benefit of conscientious practice. I've always known this is the way to go, but for...

Any recommends on where to start? Kit, or individually selected parts? I can solder alright, paint and woodwork beyond some sanding is what I would have trouble with now. I am temporarily without a shop.

I've been contemplating building a P-Bass. I'm afraid I won't wind up with something that plays as well as a factory Fender, so I keep putting it off. Yours looks nice.

Help Me Design a Practice Routine

I bought the Walking Bass Course from TalkingBass.net. That will cover a lot of the ground I want to cover and provide a roadmap which I desperately need to stay on track. I may keep a diary here of my practice and progress.

Perhaps. Ages ago I played clarinet and later trumpet in band and I learned to read reasonably well for those instruments. I can sort it out for the most part now, though I can't play straight off a chart. It's a skill I haven't made time for thus far, but I may add it in.
