I've used Westone UM2 for about that price, and they were pretty nice, but you can do really good for $400. You can get custom dual drivers from 1964 Ears (Invalid Link Removed) Search the internet, and head-fi.org, 1964 are getting rave reviews, I'm hoping to get some of their quads soon...

FWIW, I've really enjoyed the tone I've hed when using Behringer amps and cabs numerous times in the past, punchy and articulate. But I've never owned any of it, so can't comment on reliability. I couldn't get over the name enough to buy for myself. -RTK

If you have a solid state head, with a DI XLR output, you don't need a cab. Note that you can't use a tube head without a cab attached. Also note that some olderheads, such as early trace elliots have XLR SPEAKER outputs. -RTK

Try opening your mouth wide as you insert the ear buds, it straightens your ear out and helps me get a good seal. -RTK

Got 3 of them! I use lots of Sennheiser and Shure wireless stuff. Don't really like the Senns. The Shure stuff sounds better, but I still prefer wired. RTK
