Baer Amplification Megathread!

I had an AE112, and gigged AE210s a fair amount. To my ear the ML112 is a better fit. RAs have a huge low end that can sound wooly or overwhelming depending on technique and amp rig, along with some scratchy piezo clack. I think some players struggle to get the mids to speak depending on a variety of factors, especially what kind of gigs you're playing. I used the RA in a funk band for awhile so in that case I was pushing the tone around pretty heavily trying to get it through the mix.

I find that I don't really need any compression using the ML112, and don't really eq the bass or amp either. The inherent upper-mid clarity in the ML112 really helps the RA speak in a mix, and since it doesn't have tweeter highs, some of the piezo harshness just isn't there.

Exactly what I'm looking for.

True, but when you factor in shipping costs, and a cover, you are saving a nice piece of change. I have no stake in that cab, just saying. Although I don't know if that is selling with a cover?

Edit: Ok, no cover, chip. Now I understand. I recently sold one for $700, absolutely mint like new, with cover, and I delivered it.

Yes you did.... And I was the happy recipient of that and couldn't be happier! Looking forward to my gig tomorrow night with my Ml112. It will be my first bar gig with it. Looking forward to see how it fairs... But I think I already know how it will do!

Aren't these 690 new?

Yes they are. So, after shipping and tax if that applies you are looking at a $700+ cab.

Or, you can buy a used one and save yourself a few bucks. Or even more if you are local. May not mean a lot to you, but for some folks saving $40 or $50 might be something they are into. Or if you have something cool, you might be able to pull of a trade, which I don't think Rodger will do on a new one.

I lowered my price just a bit (bowing to pressure from the Baer thread:hmm:), but my general feeling is that if you are not interested in purchasing an item in the classifieds at the price listed, then you should leave well enough alone. If you are interested, but feel you want a lower price, then you should PM me and make your case for a lower price privately... with all due respect.

+1 Saving a few bucks is a good thing these days. A new cab is $690 plus shipping, which has been rising steadily lately. Shipping usually runs about $25 if your close to Cincinnati to about $50 on the longer distances. The ML112's are selling well enough that we are trying to keep them in stock at all times.
