Baer Amplification Megathread!

I hear Price Questioning has a new album coming out

You and Chef have to knock this off.

For the last couple years the most annoying and yet endearing joke I've had with my wife is to take any odd sounding collection of words that might chance to slip out of her mouth and then proceed to tell her I played in band by that name.

This week has been rife with gems like:

"Butt Sweat"

"Flying Buttresses"

"Questionable Pork"

and my favorite

"Slutty bugs"

I think the two of you are only encouraging me, much to my better half's dismay.

Hey, doesn't Tom play in a band called "Pumping Ethel"? A simply brilliant name, if ever I've heard one. I do quite like Questionable Pork, though. Would make a great double bill with Tom's band!

I used to run this gambit on my wife's shopping lists.

Oh: my ex-wife's shopping lists.

Back in the day our "regular" name was Nasty Habits (we opened every gig with "Live With Me" by the Stones) but we went by the Blöpucks from time to time. We also did one gig billed as Adolph Hitler and the Gay Nazis for Christ. Back in 1980 you could get away with that. These days, probably not so much...

Ah, the halcyon days of band names, really.
Some female friends of mine had two I really liked:
Art Sluts, and, Chicks with Dicks.
Starvin' Marvin and The Dexatrims were about that time,
and, Ditch Witch got sued over that name and hadda split it.

Yes they are. So, after shipping and tax if that applies you are looking at a $700+ cab.

Or, you can buy a used one and save yourself a few bucks. Or even more if you are local. May not mean a lot to you, but for some folks saving $40 or $50 might be something they are into. Or if you have something cool, you might be able to pull of a trade, which I don't think Rodger will do on a new one.

I lowered my price just a bit (bowing to pressure from the Baer thread:hmm:), but my general feeling is that if you are not interested in purchasing an item in the classifieds at the price listed, then you should leave well enough alone. If you are interested, but feel you want a lower price, then you should PM me and make your case for a lower price privately... with all due respect.

Don't get offended, its not just you, all the used ones have this kind of price point. I just thought i must be missing something.

Ah..the good old days.... Before attorneys, liberals and political correctness started dragging us down the toilet...ooops! Did I just have a George Carlin moment? Sorry guys, we're all winners here. :D

Maybe not. I remember when the Battered Wives opens for Elvis Costello in the late '70s in Montreal. Lousy Toronto punk band that got eggs thrown at them by a few protesters when they came on stage. They played about 2 songs and turned tail, police escortd the protesters out, and unfortunately ruined the gig as EC didn't seem to know what had gone down and thought the unsettled audience was just not responding the him, and he left the stage after a half hour telling the audience to F off!
