Baer Amplification Megathread!

Last night was the first time with the ML112 I was under cab'd for the room. I should have brought a pair:

That doesn't show the high ceilings or the full width of the room. No FOH. Last year we played the same gig but at a different ballroom that was smaller. The good news is that stage volume was fine but bass wasn't pushing out into the room. Luckily for dinner jazz no one gives a damn :D

What a COOL stage! Bet it was a great party! I don't think I've played many rooms that size without FOH Support. I can imagine you wanted a bit more 'punch and bigger bloom for that room. Bet you got the job done though!

Definitely under cab'd... that's an SVT crowd if ever I've seen one!

Funny moment #37 of the day - we're in the first tune and our sax playing is wailing (she was mic'd into her own combo amp). A member of the audience in his 70's (my guess) walked up to within a few feet of the stage, slowly looked back and forth, then put his fingers in his ears and motioned to turn it down.

I knew it was going to be an awesome night. At least my car didn't get towed from the loading dock area. Gotta look for the positives in life.

Actually I think a pair of ML112s would have been fine for that room. I just needed a bit more low end support to push into the room. I was plenty loud on stage.

Classic corporate gig right there ;) But such is the life of a gigging musician.

Invariably, its always the oldest people, most sensitive to volume who sit closest to the speakers. What up wit dat?

This makes me think of two things:
"Hey...you kids....get offa my lawn!"

And:
Loading into a club called The Devil's Tail in Junction City Kansas, the club owner, who was about that same age, well over 55, said "what do you boys need all that...electrical mumbo-jumbo for? What do you need all those....speakers for?"

We were booked there for a week.

Turned out alright, most of the customers were military guys, from a nearby base. We were there for the week of the month they got paid.
