I had some issues with my U500. I also purchased the FS-12 foot switch to go with it. First I sent the amp back because it was behaving intermittently with the foot switch. Then I sent the footswitch back because we discovered that was the actual problem. Supremely satisfied with Sweetwater as...
The features on this amp are amazing! When I took it to practice a couple weeks ago, it had no problem getting under and through my drummer and guitarist. We play loud in a small space.
I generally set up on modern and jump around between overdrive, distortion, and fuzz. I'm digging the 6550 emulator but I go between all three, depending on the groove. I run through a Morley Wah and a Boss OD-3 overdrive pedal. It's made for guitar but it gives proper metal fuzz that sounds...
It's weird. I figured out that if I unplug the FS-12 and only run the FS-14 and make sure the compressor switch operates, then I can plug it back in and it works great. Every so often, I don't even need to do that. I haven't messed with it much, I busted my right eardrum and it got infected.
I will eventually. I have a Behringer combo with a 15" that I'm going to modify into a cabinet. See if that will run with my U500. That 15' is a Bugera and it punches hard.
The amp itself sounds great. Jammed with my guitarist and drummer last weekend and it held its own and then some. Sweetwater is awesome! They've been extremely helpful. That footswitch, when it works, is killer!!
I just got my U500 with the 5-function footswitch. I plugged it in and it worked great. The next morning, it would not work. Had Sweetwater send me a new amp thinking that was the issue. Plugged it in, it ran great. This morning, no footswitch! Again!! They're sending me a new one as soon as...
Thanks, man. i'll check it out. I've been looking at the Bugera BXD15 but they're not even putting in the Bugera speaker.
Also looking at an Acoustic cab. Not familiar with their product, though.
I play metal. A lot of thrash classics, newer, detuned stuff, as well as some classic rock, punk, doom, black metal, death metal. Metal. I would prefer new. I have a thing about not being the first.
Hello.
I need a new amp. I'm looking for something minimum 300W around $500. I want something that will last. My last combo amp was a Behringer BXL3000 and it sounded great and lasted about 9 years. Had it dialed in and I would like to get the same quality and performance. Any suggestions?
