    New at Bass Guitars

Fender J all the way. First got squire J from GC online for $200 six months ago, love it. Now I got to get all the knock-off's. It is addicting, lots of cool cheap and fun basses.....schecter, warlock, warwick, Beatles bass, have fun!

Sleeper combos on the secondary market

Invalid Link Removed I'm new at bass, and at this talk-bass! Does this meet your field of view? Ready to move up and this looks too good to be true, with the size and watts. Thoughts? Also, with a large Woodshop in Denver, is this discussion about building your own? A newbie......

Thanks. Also do you, or anyone know what the 4 holes in front of the bridge on the original Jaco bass were for?

    Building my own Jaco replica

Love the options, and I love the challenge. The wood I'm hoping to handle, being a wood worker..... I would like to put the money on all the other unforeseen items.... Like........? Would pick guard holes be cool for a true road worn replica?

    Building my own Jaco replica

I will be removing frets for sure! Fretboard is Rosewood, and initially I was planning on installing thin maple strips w/ epoxy and sanding smooth. Think it would look cool, but is it leading away from Jaco ? ? ?

I understand! This is my first forum, first post, first thread, first response.... you get the picture. Turning 50 this year, and trying to teach this dog some new tricks. Just trying to envelope the whole Jaco thing. THANKS

    Building my own Jaco replica

Got a Amer. STD J-bass for home, and a Squire for play at the office. I own a woodshop in Denver. Just got a Geddy Lee to replace the Squire. Going to turn it into a Jaco Pastorius Tribute Jazz Bass Just for fun. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions?
