    Removing pre-amp help

Hi. I'm hoping someone can help. Just got my hands on a gwb35 but really dont like ibanez pre-amp that's in it (very noisy) and wanted to see what it sounded like as a passive bass. I found the wiring diagram but am unsure how I would rewire this/what to remove to make it passive and hoping...

    5 String recommendations

Owned an sr505 for years now. Each time I get s new bass thinking I'll replace it but always go back to it and is always one of my top players. To throw another spanner in the works I'd also recommend a Sire v7. Amazing bass almost holds up to my USA g&l in terms of quality (except the tuners)

    Bass buying: Cost vs Skill-driven?

After touring and chatting to other touring bands it seems that the gear used/purchased definitely relates to the intended use. Most touring musicians won't be taking their £1,000 plus basses with them as theres a risk of getting stolen/damaged in transport so find the happy medium of great...

Perhaps the greatest rig of all time?

Don't currently have a photo but for me its my Trace Elliot AH350SMX (one with the neon light built in. no light-no tone :D) going in to my Ampeg 610 HLF (tweeter off) Run a darkglass B3k into Sansamp programmable bddi infront of it. Nails the 'tone in my head' haven't heard anything since that...

I'm Edinburgh based, not sure if you're aware but there is a facebook page for music gear that is always worth a look. if you search facebook Music Gear Buy/Sell in Glasgow/Edinburgh (Central Scotland) there's always gear coming up for sale at good prices. In terms of best rig to go for as a...

    NBD! Peavey Patriot USA

Found on a Peavey forum they were made from 78-90's. Could be wrong though

    NBD! Peavey Patriot USA

I've been thinking the same. Their gear is always reliable and at fair prices (some at almost a steal). I have a peavey tour 700 as a backup head and that will survive the end of the world. Now to get the Mark IV of my dreams....

    NBD! Peavey Patriot USA

Yea I'm really impressed. it had some damage to the neck which was fixed by the guitar doctor over here in the uk so will keep it probably more rock solid than prior. definitely will be on the look out for another one. i've also noticed that a shop over in Edinburgh is selling one of the...

    NBD! Peavey Patriot USA

Loving it. Playing a gig on Friday, trying to transpose songs usually played on a 5 string (using a high B) to this so it can get some gig time

    NBD! Peavey Patriot USA

As usual pics or it didn't happen Managed to bag a Peavey Patriot on eBay. Just arrived, plays like a dream. First 4 string I've preferred over my 5ers. Serial number identifies it as 1979! So happy with this

    ash vs mahogany

Owned and played a sr505 (5 string version of 500) and love it. People are right in saying the stain is weak and goes straight through to the wood. Mine definitely has that worn in look but I love it that way n wouldn't change it. All depends what your going for. As far as I'm aware the 600...
