When I see these custom made basses with a dozen knobs and switches, I just think "that looks like trouble, you knock one and you lose your sound". I know there's got to be some people on here that like all that extra trim and i was curious as to why?

Yeah, I've seen those Gibson IV's around but the cheapest I've seen them for is about $1500-1600 Australian, so I'm thinking it's going to be cheaper (and possibly easier) to build something similar.

Am I the only person who actually likes or uses the opti-grab on the nikki sixx blackbird bass? Every review I've seen, people just say it's useless or a marketing ploy but every time I play a different bass I find myself reaching for it. I'm just curious to see if anybody else likes or uses it.

I was once told by a bass player who I'd just met, that it's not really bass if you play it with a pick. It just straight up annoys me when I hear that kind of thing
