What's that little black rectangular shaped thing between the pickup and the neck with the two screws in it? I've seen those in other photos of basses but don't know what it is and my bass doesn't have one so is it something you added yourself? Maybe something to do with the thumb?

I'm wondering about the new short scale Musicman basses that a few of you have just purchased. I see that all of them have one pickup and I wonder if that limits your tonal possibilities at all. I've never played one so I'm curious, a lot of people sure give them good reviews.

I believe that this is the distribution point but I don't think they have an actual store of any sort in this area. I think it's a couple of guys who now are working from home.
