Fender AO 50 p-Bass vs. fender 75th anniversary commemorative

Just ordered a NOS Fender AO 50 p-Bass white ash / maple. I played one about 2 years ago and really liked it. I never had the 75th anniversary commemorative in my hands. Do you think i made a good buy? The AO is Nitro and was a bit cheaper....

    Höfner basses and dead spots

Okay, so this is how a german made hofner sounds with flats. Is this what you call dead sounding?

    Höfner basses and dead spots

I think you are just not an experienced player and are trolling here a bit. A Guild Starfire is a semi-hollow, not a hollowbody. And this bass had definitely some dead spots or weaker spots as every Instrument has some. You just didnt found them.

    Höfner basses and dead spots

Than any other kind of hollow Bass? Regarding prices.. it doesnt matter if they were relatively cheap almost 60 years ago in Germany. Maybe they were cheaper than imports from the US these days. But times have changed. If you think its not worth it, dont buy one.

    Höfner basses and dead spots

Acoustic Instruments like Guitars or Hofner Basses all do have ´weaker spots`, but i wouldnt call them "dead spots" in most cases. You have given the explanation by yourself already. Prices for a German made Violin Bass are absolutely not "insane" imho. You have to pay the same for a Ric or...

Help me pick a new bass

I see. I think its between the stingray and the rick as you already own a jazz. If i had to choose between the two... get the Rick. These basses are sexy as hell....

Help me pick a new bass

I mean what are you after with a new Bass? Do you need a tones your Jazz doesnt offer? Or is the playability of the Jazz not right for your hands? Or what is the reason you want another bass?

Help me pick a new bass

Want to buy a Fender precision

I would take an american original over a professional. Feels much nicer and better sound for me. Bigger neck of course... .

    The Rickenbacker Club Part Twelve

I played a really great new one at a shop maybe two years ago. It was very resonant. But i wasnt out for a bass that day and the shop was more expensive than any other. This bass was the first rick that was gone there. All others i played since (there and at other places) were more or less the...
