    Fender Precision-Bird?

Yep, but honestly these are made as if straight from Fender or gibson in the 50/60s.. Way beyond all the custom shop reissue stuff, it's really really beautiful instrument

    Fender Precision-Bird?

I'm sure I've put this up somewhere before.. My Zeus Guitars ZPB, mahogany body, ultra thin nitro finish, nickel hardware, reverse tuners. It's as vintage as it can be. Zeus is a Japanese company doing all manner of gibson/Fender mashups but in a 1950/60s period correct way.

What is the appeal of the EB-3 sound?

Through a valve amp, through 15" cabs (CABS not cab), bass rolled off, mids turned up, stuff treble. Chuck a tube screamer or similar in front to give just a slight edge.. Nothing flubby or woofy there, angry angry middy grind. I gigged one for a few years, nothing quite like it.

Who Has a Bass No One Else on this Board Has?? (Part 3)

I know for a fact I'd be the only one with one of these here (seeing the factory only made 4 and I got to play 3 of them.. The 4th was out in the sticks). Small Japanese builder 'Zeus custom', seem to build a lot of Fender/gibson crossover stuff but with a generally slightly mental attention to...

Hip-Hop Bass Recommendations for C or D Standard?

I play in a hiphop band, I play a G&L SB-2 tuned to BEAD using a 5 string set, just dump the high string, fantastic clear low notes.. I also hate 5 strings!

Celluloid pickguard = Hofner pickup corrosion

Its nickel hardware, it will tarnish and go milky regardless of the pick guard.. me personally, thats why I love nickel! Ive got a 52RI tele and all of the tuners have gone a soft milky white, same with a Gibson Les Paul I had.

Another NBD quality control issue - 2200 Euro jazz :-(

corrosion on the pole pieces is normal too.. even on a $5000 bass.

    Buying basses at Ishibashi ?

Ishibashi have a great Australian guy running their international sales dept now. He's a great guy and will take care of you.. I've ordered probably 15 instruments from them and have bought hands on from their ochonamizu and shibuya stores, there is no cause for concern.

    Alembic Club at Talk Bass

Very clear, very snappy, I've put flats on it to smooth it a bit, but the filter is great in adding a hard edge if you need it.
