Just Googled this bass... they all have a cigarette burn in the same spot... interesting that they all got burned that way!

Must be the same chain smoker at Fender doing final assembly on them all!

Here in Australia, road worn basses don't have a cigarette burn. Instead they have a squashed mosquito embedded in the lacquer and smell like stale beer.

As a non-smoker (I can't even breathe properly with cig smoke in the air, TBH), that faux cig burn is not a happy thing to me...I have a strong conditioned aversion to anything having to do with smoking. I'd happily play a relic, but that burn...blech.

Odd, the bass sounds and plays EXACTLY the same. Apparently the fake cigarette burn DOES NOT, I repeat DOES NOT effect tone or playability.

It would if the cig was in a tort holder.

My bass came with this blemish to the headstock. No clue if it's supposed to be a cigarette burn or not but either way I kind of like it now.
