The ones burned by Debbie from Accounting have the mojo. They're going to fetch a premium on Ebay in a few years.
ok, road worns are not for everyone's taste, but to have them mass produce a fake cig burn is sillier than silly IMHOJust Googled this bass... they all have a cigarette burn in the same spot... interesting that they all got burned that way!![]()

and, how would you really get that burn there?...not if it is hanging or on a stand or being played...maybe if you were using your bass as a coffee table, I see no way cigarette would "fall and land" just there, and stay in that position long enough to actually blacken the wood

I see what you are trying to get at....don't think it would result in a burn in that location, Zappa ain't gonna let in burn down to the nub....and the heater is more over the 1st fret

I'd do the exact same thing as you if I got a Roadworn P. While road wear is really cool if it's done over time and legitimately, I dislike basses that come with it pre-done, and that cigarette burn is just the cherry on top for me.
No hate though, they're beautiful basses, just not my style![]()
Robot with a soldering iron.I think the tobacco lobbyists are hearing you loud and clear. I think it's interesting that the "burn" goes that deep into the wood...wonder how they do it? Do you think they just have a row of RW necks in the Fender employee break area and instead of flicking it in the ashtray, Debbie from accounting just leaves it burning on the headstock? Or perhaps they do it with a soldering iron?
Maybe Fender will start removing the fake burn to monetize this new trend.Oh no!!!
FunkHead would never want MY Roadworn. Apparently, to FunkHead the stock faux cigarette burn is the equivalent of the late 50's Gibson PAF's. Relax FH, it's a MIM not mint vintage 57.
Wonder what Zappa paid for that guitar. Wonder what it's worth now. Betcha it doesn't have fake burns.
Oh you mean of a cig burn. Gotcha.
can't argue with thatSometimes they will burn down. Eric Claptons famous strat has authentic burns. He always stuck a smoke in that spot. Probably burned down during his long solos.
