Road Worn P - Faux Cigarette Burn

It's his fault. I'm a smoker too, but I don't have a bass at hand at work. I just thought: isn't the gap between the neckplate and the e-string on a bass to wide to serve as a cigarette-holder? Maybe it would work with a joint? This would make this fake relic-thing even more absurd. They just translated the concept from guitar to bass without asking an informed cigarette-smoker.

Here in Australia, road worn basses don't have a cigarette burn. Instead they have a squashed mosquito embedded in the lacquer and smell like stale beer.

Mine smell like Twisties.

There's a difference, to me, between some relicing and a cigarette burn. I always thought the burn looked stupid, so if the OP does a little touch up on the bare, it'll look much better IMO.

Back in the 70s smoking was common and all of us smokers put our cigarettes there because it was "cool". A lot of basses and guitars had those burns. I like it, more authentic looking than a lot of the obvious belt sander "wear" relics have.
