Using a seperate preamp and power amp

I recently started using a power amp with a V Amp pro. I am shocked by the awesomeness of this Behringer product.

    Squier vintage modified Jazz?

I play a VM Jazz in a cover band......we do some Seether tunes......I am happy with the tone and our sound guy has told me that the VM sounds better than my Fender Jazz. I've been using the VM for about a month and I love it for modern heavy tunes.

    Boy, Im Impressed...Squiers

I recently bought a new VM Jazz. It was tough for me to get past the Squier label, but I loved the feel and tone when I played it in the store. I played others that weren't as satisfying, but this thing was sweet right off the hook. I had significantly more cash saved up for a MIA, but this...

    Straplock question

My problem with strap-locks is the fact that they often don't fit on my straps......the strap-ends are too thick and the locks don't close properly. I like those old strap/lock combos.

New Years a Here...Who has Gigs, and are you doing anything special?

We've got a gig at one of our regular venues. Champagne toast....buffet....all that Jazz. It should be a most excellent time. It's our band's second NYE but we didn't have a gig last year. 2010 was pretty good to us and we are psyched for our first NYE party! I'm using my new...

Confessions of a Flatwound Convert: The Crappy Remake

I'm a recent convert to chromes also. Here's what I'm wondering: if so many players love flats......why does my local GC carry 99% roundwound??????

    NBD......Unplanned purchase!

I will start a mod thread and post pics. It's the black bronco. It's a great excuse to practice doing my own work. The sennheiser is the G2 and GC now carries the G3. He sold it to me for $199. Like I wrote, I was looking at the Line 6 models and I couldn't pass up a sennheiser system for...

    NBD......Unplanned purchase!

Well, I went to local GC to buy a Sennheiser wireless system. I worked with one of the current managers there and he hooked me up with a great deal. I was looking into the new Line 6 systems, but the sennheiser was to good to pass up. Anyway...I was talking with my buddy and playing some...

    New nut for fiver????

Cool, thanks. I thought so, but I was wondering if it would be best to change it. I love my new five string's feel and tone, but my current band plays many tunes in drop c. I've done a couple gigs playing off the first fret of the b, but lots of riffs would just be easier off the open c, as...

    New nut for fiver????

If I change from beadg to high c do I need a new nut on my fiver? Sorry for the question if t is as obvious as I think.

Tough weekend.....first gigs on the five-string!

The obsession is hillarious to me!! I suppose it's much healthier than other addictions. The strange thing is that I have ALWAYS played music. Sax was first, but I became close to mediocre on lots of instruments. I've been gigging since before I was old enough to drink in the bars I was...

Tough weekend.....first gigs on the five-string!

As a follow up: good gigs this weekend. I am still getting a bit lost when I zone out on the "show" side of things. This bass is also my first active bass and I am loving that! I've changed lots lately, as I've crossed into bass obsession territory. I spend too much time on this forum, I'm...
