    the damp-its are for dry weather conditions. high altitudes affect it too. the wood can always change depending on where you are. certain places on the bass can crack or warp, make it go out of tune etc... however, for what condition your bass is in right now i dont think you have to worry about...

    I have the underwood mounted behind the tailpiece where you put your strings in. heres a pic i found online. its like this, but the output is facing the opposite direction and the actual unit is behind the tailpiece.
