I bought one of these on impulse a few years ago, and it was great for getting some experience without frets and for training my ear. The only mod I did on it was after a few years of playing, had another jack laying around so I replaced the tone pot with it and took each pickup out separately.

When I think about the experience I have had with other musicians, I love how self deprecating yet relaxed bass players can be. And yes, I do think about which girl I should be playing for. Then I miss a note and think "she's not interested anymore..." As if she was before.

I like the warmth of a tube amp. My guitarist had an old Fender amp, and on a cold outdoor gig I could get up behind it and keep my hands from freezing.
