Just doing some light digging...it's reported that there are over 3 billion email accounts worldwide. That also means there's over 3 billion spam folders...400 million of which will contain your music link if you sign up with this guy!
Yeah, I got nothing against not polluting. Somehow I think this is more the MSNBC version of "Environmentally friendly" though, but I digress. My first priority in potential band mates was certainly not what their socio-political philosophy was.
I'm sure it is for some people though, and some bands as it could be a focus of their music. A lot of musicians I know are highly opinionated people. Not all are jerks about it, but most are.
Original, melodic metal band of experienced, serious musicians, is currently seeking serious professionals to record immediately. Tour will begin no later than January 2014. You must be capable of obtaining a passport. This is a serious band and not a part-time gig/hobby. We are currently seeking to replace & fill the following positions: guitar (must be willing & able to play rhythm and lead since there are many layers to this project & work as a team with other guitarist), bass (must be a true bassist), drummer (must enjoy, understand, & be capable of the various extremes in melodic metal). I was at a show the other night and I thought to myself, this is so awful, I can do better than this **** that's being passed for real music. So why the hell not?
I've been in a few bands but nothing recent. I still play guitar every day. I have been playing for 20+ years. I play bass guitar, lead and rhythm guitar, drums and keyboards. I can't sing. I also can't play the keyboards that well either. Just being honest. I'm not the front man either. I don't have a guitar player face. Who wants that anyway?
Would be great to find other artist that can play multiple instruments.
I am not doing this to be famous or to get chicks or to pay the bills. I have a job. I am only doing this for the same reason and artist creates.
Some influences, The Beatles, Kinks, Who, Rolling Stones, Harry Nilsson, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Byrds, Beach Boys, Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Stooges, Love, Doors, Creedence Clearwater Revival, REM, Replacements, Big Star, Church, XTC, Smithereens, Wire, Meat Puppets, Guided By Voices, Talking Heads, Television, and Patti Smith. A lot more too, try me!
